How to run a tennis club championship
A tennis club championship is a set of knockout events, usually singles, doubles and mixed, played across a season with a deadline for each round and a finals day at the end. To run one, fix the calendar first, take entries, seed and publish the draws, add a plate for first-round losers, and hold every round to its deadline.

In a tennis handicap tournament every player carries a handicap, and each game starts from a score set by the difference between the two handicaps. The stronger player owes points and starts behind Love; the weaker player receives points and starts ahead. ClubChamps uses nine values from -50 to +50 in steps of 15, and tiebreaks are played level.

A tennis box league puts players into groups of four to six, and everyone plays everyone in their box over a round of four to eight weeks. Points are awarded for each match, and at the end of the round the top players move up a box and the bottom players move down. Players arrange their own matches.
