Knockout

The classic bracket: one loss and you are out. Draws generate themselves, seeded, with byes placed for you, and the winner advances the moment a score is confirmed.

Handicap Knockout

The same bracket with a head start for weaker players, worked out from a nine-point rating. Anyone in the club can win it, and a win against the club's best counts just the same.

Box League

Small round-robin groups that run over weeks, with players arranging their own matches. Promotion and relegation are worked out when the round closes, and box leagues are free for players.

Round-robin groups first, so nobody plays once and goes home, then a knockout for the top finishers. Standings, qualifiers and the bracket that follows are all worked out from the group results.

How the free model works

ClubChamps is free to start, and the Club plan adds more box leagues, analytics and sponsor branding. On the free plan the only money that changes hands is a small fee on online knockout entries, and players pay it themselves. Players you add yourself cost nothing.

Free for organisers: No charge to set up a club, create a tournament or run a season, however many draws it holds. There is no cap on knockout tournaments, and the free plan runs one box league at a time. Club adds more box leagues, analytics and sponsor branding.
Box leagues, free for players: Players never pay to play a box league, and nothing is collected at sign-up. The free plan runs one box league at a time; the Club plan runs more.
A small fee on online entries: Players who sign up online for a knockout pay a small entry fee, and nothing is charged to the club. Questions clubs ask

Is ClubChamps really free?

Yes, for organisers. There is no charge to set up a club, run a knockout or run a box league season. Players who sign up online for a knockout pay a small fee - see pricing for the number - and players you add yourself cost nothing.

Do players need to download an app?

No. Everything runs in a normal browser on a phone or a laptop: entering a draw, checking who you play next and submitting a score all work from a web page, with nothing to install, and a notification tells them when their next match is ready.

Does ClubChamps work for padel as well as tennis?

Yes. Knockout, handicap knockout and box league all run the same way for padel as they do for tennis, on the same club page and the same public draws.

Can I import our existing members?

You can paste them in. Copy up to 200 names from a spreadsheet or a message into an event or a box league, check the list, and add them in one go. Nobody needs an account, and adding players yourself is free.

What about a full club championship with lots of events?

Run as many draws as you like under one tournament: men's, ladies', doubles and juniors. One finals day covers the lot, and one honours board records the winners.
