Question 1

How much does ClubChamps cost?

Accepted Answer

ClubChamps is completely free for tournament organisers. Players are charged a small service fee of £1.99 per entry to cover platform costs.

Question 2

How do organisers collect tournament entry fees?

Accepted Answer

Organisers can quickly set up a Stripe Connect account via their dashboard to receive and track entry fees directly. Players pay securely at registration via Stripe Checkout. Organisers receive all of the set registration fees (if any). The ClubChamps service fee is charged separately.

Question 3

Can organisers set their own entry fees?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Choose between flat-rate pricing (one fee for the whole tournament entry) or per-draw pricing (different fees for each draw category).

Question 4

How long does it take to set up a tournament?

Accepted Answer

About 2 minutes. The guided setup wizard walks you through tournament details, draw selection, match format settings, and pricing configuration.

Question 5

Can I change tournament details after it is created?

Accepted Answer

Yes. All details you enter when creating a tournament can be changed at any time by the organiser via their tournament dashboard.

Question 6

What types of tournaments are supported?

Accepted Answer

ClubChamps runs four formats today: knockout tournaments, the traditional club championship bracket; handicap knockouts, where every player is given a rating and each match starts from a handicap score; box leagues, where players are grouped into divisions, play everyone in their box and move up or down between rounds; and group stage plus knockout, where everyone gets a run of matches in a group and the top finishers go through to a knockout bracket. Each format runs end to end, from online entries through to results.

Question 7

Do I have to add players to the draw after they are registered?

Accepted Answer

No. Registered entries flow into the draws they entered automatically. For a knockout or handicap knockout, you assign any seeds and press Auto Sort to build the bracket in one click, with seeds kept apart and byes given to the top seeds; you can still drag players around before you publish. For a box league, once you have approved entrants they are placed into divisions automatically from the box sizes you set, and you can drag players between divisions before the round starts.

Question 8

Can players submit their own scores?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Players submit match scores directly from their computer or phone, which automatically update the draw. Both players can verify results to ensure accuracy, or raise a dispute for organisers to adjudicate.

Question 9

Are plate draws supported?

Accepted Answer

Yes, organisers can simply turn plate draws on for all or certain draws. First-round losers will be given the option to join the plate draw, and be automatically added to the draw, for organisers to review and finalise for publishing when all first-round matches are complete.

Question 10

Does ClubChamps support real-time updates?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Live score updates, draw changes, and tournament notifications are pushed instantly to all participants.

Question 11

How do doubles partnerships work on the platform?

Accepted Answer

It is all handled by the player. Organisers don't have to do anything! Once a player has registered for a doubles draw, they will be asked to select their partner from the other registered players, which can be accepted or declined by the other player.
