Overview
A cardio tennis or padel fitness tournament blends competitive play with fitness elements. Rounds include not just standard match play but also high-intensity drills, agility challenges, and skills tests that all contribute to an overall point total. It's designed for players who love the sport but are primarily motivated by fitness, and it's an excellent way to engage members who might not enter traditional tournaments.
How it works
- The event alternates between competitive match rounds (timed or short format) and fitness/skills stations (sprints, ladder drills, target serving, volleys for accuracy).
- Points are accumulated across all activities - both match results and fitness challenge scores count.
- The overall winner is the player with the highest combined score.
- Sessions typically last 60-90 minutes.
Running one, step by step
- Design a circuit mixing 3-4 short match rounds with 3-4 fitness/skills challenges.
- Assign point values to each activity. Balance competitive and fitness elements.
- Set up fitness stations with clear instructions and a volunteer/coach at each.
- Rotate players through stations on a timed basis (8-12 minutes per station).
- Track scores centrally and announce intermediate standings to build excitement.
- End with a cool-down and awards.
Best for
Fitness-focused members, coaching groups, off-season engagement, club open days.
Can you run it on ClubChamps?
ClubChamps does not run this format yet. This guide is here because it is worth knowing about - not because we can host it for you.
