Fun Day / Junior Festival

Fun day or festival-style tournaments are designed for juniors, beginners, and family events where the goal is enjoyment rather than serious competition. They typically feature shortened matches, simplified scoring, creative rule variations, and an emphasis on participation over winning. Activities might include "target tennis" (hitting specific zones on court), team relay challenges, and mini-tournaments played with modified equipment (short racquets, low-compression balls).

• Matches are very short: 1 game each, first to 4 points, or timed at 5 minutes.
• Rotation is rapid - players move between courts and activities every few minutes.
• Scoring can be creative: earn bonus points for specific shots, accumulate stickers, or play for team points.
• Non-tennis activities (target throwing, obstacle courses, quizzes) can be interspersed.
• Awards are given to everyone - participation medals, fun awards ("Best Sportsmanship," "Biggest Smile"), and small prizes.

1. Design a circuit of activities across your available courts. Mix tennis/padel matches with fun challenges.
2. Group players by age (under 8, 8-10, 11-14, etc.) and use age-appropriate equipment.
3. Keep rotations short (5-10 minutes per station) to maintain energy and attention.
4. Recruit volunteer helpers - one per court/activity station is ideal.
5. Provide snacks, drinks, and a social area for parents.
6. Award prizes to everyone. Every child should leave with something.
7. End with a group photo and celebration.
