Overview

Team Americano uses the same rotating-opponents structure as standard Americano, but players stay with the same partner for the entire event. Points are scored as a team rather than individually. This suits players who prefer the strategic consistency of a fixed partnership while still getting to face every other pair in the tournament.

How it works

  • Players enter as fixed pairs.
  • Each round, pairs face a different opposing pair.
  • Over the course of the event, every pair faces every other pair once.
  • Points are accumulated per team using rally-point scoring.
  • The team with the highest total points wins.

Running one, step by step

  1. Confirm the number of pairs (minimum 3 pairs for a meaningful event).
  2. Generate a round robin schedule for the pairs.
  3. Set match format (16, 24, or 32 points per match, or time-limited).
  4. Run and score as per standard round robin but with team totals.
  5. Award prizes to the winning pair.

Best for

Padel club events where players have regular partners, pre-season warm-up events, competitive doubles.

Can you run it on ClubChamps?

ClubChamps does not run this format yet. This guide is here because it is worth knowing about - not because we can host it for you.
