Re-run Tournament
Clone a past tournament to run it again -- all your settings carry over, dates advance by a year, and you start fresh.
Overview
Instead of creating a new tournament from scratch each year, you can clone an existing one. Cloning copies all the settings and draw categories from your original tournament into a new draft, automatically advancing every date by one year. Registrations, matches, and scores are not carried over -- you get a clean slate.
This is ideal for annual club championships, seasonal leagues, or any recurring event where the format stays the same.
Dates advance automatically
All tournament dates and round deadlines shift forward by exactly one year. You can adjust them after cloning if you need different dates.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Open the tournament you want to clone
Navigate to the management page of the tournament you want to re-run. In the hero section at the top, you will see a clone button (copy icon) next to the tournament name.
Review what gets cloned
When you click the clone button, a confirmation dialog appears showing what will and will not carry over:
| Cloned | Not cloned |
|---|---|
| Tournament name (with " Copy" suffix) | Registrations |
| Club name and organiser details | Matches and scores |
| Entry fee and pricing model | Draw publications |
| All draw categories and settings | Player seedings |
| Draw rules (sets, deuces, plate draws) | Invitation tokens |
| Additional draw information | Tournament code (new one generated) |
All date fields -- tournament start, end, registration deadline, and all eight round deadlines -- are advanced by one year.
Confirm and clone
Click Clone to create the new tournament. You will be redirected to the management page of the cloned tournament. It starts in draft status with:
- The original name plus " Copy" (e.g. "Summer Championship 2026 Copy")
- A new, unique tournament code
- All dates shifted forward by one year
- Zero registrations and no published draws
Subscription limits apply
Free accounts can create up to 2 tournaments per year. Pro accounts have no limit. If you have reached your limit, you will be prompted to upgrade before cloning.
Customise and publish
Before going live, review and update the cloned tournament:
- Rename -- Remove the " Copy" suffix and update the year or season (e.g. "Summer Championship 2027").
- Adjust dates -- The auto-advanced dates are a starting point. Fine-tune the registration deadline, start date, and round deadlines to match your actual schedule.
- Review fees -- Confirm the entry fee and pricing model are still correct for the new season.
- Publish -- When everything looks right, publish the tournament to make it visible to players and open registration.
Tips
- Clone early. Give yourself time to adjust dates and settings before the registration window opens.
- Check draw settings. If you added or removed draw categories last year, make sure the cloned set still matches what you want to offer this time.
- Use the same Stripe account. Your Stripe Connect setup carries over from your profile, so payments work immediately on the cloned tournament.
